 SEIU Local 100 Arkansas

Families who work and are still below the poverty level are over 75% of poor families in Arkansas. Local 100 has made their number one priority to work to raise the minimum wage to a living wage for these families. L100 has organized and mobilized the Personal Care Aides across Arkansas, which has helped the local to represent members in all but two counties in Arkansas.
Arkansas State employees, workers at UAMS, and at Head Start have all pulled together to press for better pay, better working conditions, and a voice at work.
Individuals are powerless- and unable to win improvements in wages and working conditions. Local 100 members mobilize- through new conferences, rallies, Speak Outs with legislators, in coalitions with other unions, community groups, and faith-based organizations to win needed change at work.
One example of Local 100 SEIU members suceess is the campaign for a state grievance procedure by Executive Order. When L100 members believe that they have been written up unfairly, L100 is now able to represent them in all the stages of the grievance process. Personal Care Aides have also received a raise of 17% to 27%, thanks to help from Local 100.
Working together, we can build the power to win living wages, a voice at work, affordable health insurance, and dignity and respect on the job for working families across Arkansas. News and Announcements
